Princess Cards

So who doesn’t love princesses?

I have to admit I have a soft spot for princess Jasmine in Aladdin.  I mean, that princess is savvy, she isn’t settling for the first rich prince that comes her way.

I posted a poll on my Facebook page about which princesses people would like to see on a card.  Jasmine won out, followed by Belle of Beauty and the Best.

In the past, I had tried to make the princesses up using either the “once upon a princess” or “create a friend” cricut cartridges. This worked especially well with Elsa from Frozen.

Below: Princess cards from “create a friend” cricut cartridge.

I stumble across so many great images from lettering delights, including their set of images called, “happily ever after“.  There is also a “more happily ever after” set that I am yet to play with.

As per usual, I generally delete a lot of the layers in Cricut design space to ensure that the shapes are simplified.  Layers like their shoes, earrings, cheeks, just make it too time consuming for me!  You could always put on some pink stick on rhinestones for checks or stick on pearls for earrings if you wanted.  I cut out Cinderella gloves but found them too fiddly for me, so deleted them for the next cut.

Below: An idea of the layers that I had before cutting using Cricut design space software.

And here is the end result.  I had some gorgeous apple paper from an old pad of Kaisercraft’s fine and sunny that went well with snow white.  I cut out the white borders from Cricut’s “small tags and frames” cartridge.   A button was added to each of the cards.  The stamps used were from Kaisercraft’s Pop! clear stamp.

  1. These cards are so cute, perfect for a little girl’s bday. I love the idea of simplifying them and not cutting out every single piece. If I see a cut file that has tons of small details I usually don’t cut them out, but I’ll keep this in mind now!
